Towards Sustainability

Price: £200

Ref: 03/EQ/14/2
ISBN: 1-84057-298-1
Published: 2003

The “Towards Sustainability” project was undertaken by Entec UK, on behalf of UKWIR. It has developed a set of sustainability indicators for use by the UK water industry. These address social and economic, as well as environmental, aspects of the water industry and its operations. The industry has been reporting on environmental indicators for four years and these indicators will enable fuller reporting. An important feature of the project was the early involvement of a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the industry. This provided stakeholder feedback on industry indicators and an understanding of their requirements.
