UKWIR is working with the Environment Agency to deliver catchment based studies testing source-pathway-impact models and focusing on the opportunities and barriers to the delivery of sustainable environmental management. This 'Catchment Project' will build on and integrate UKWIR's collaborative projects on diffuse pollution, source apportionment and integrated catchment regulation.
UKWIR has also been involved in two workshops with NERC during 2009, where catchment management research was identified as having high priority for stakeholders involved in water resources. It is hoped that further collaboration and valuable research will evolve from these initiatives.
