NUAG Phase 2 Outputs - Monday 22 June
One jigsaw delivering a national common approach
Conference at One Great George Street, London
With over 4 million holes being dug annually by utility companies, there is considerable potential for major third party damage to the nearly 22,000 kilometres of major accident hazard pipeline in the UK. This is the key challenge to be discussed at the NUAG Phase 2 Outputs conference at One Great George Street on Monday 22 June.

Experts from key companies including the Scottish Road Works Commissioner and the Head of the Streetworks Team at the Department for Transport will explore the risks and challenges faced by utility and transport companies in terms of delays to road users, business disruption and environmental damage.

Despite no major catastrophes having occurred in the UK, accidents in both Belgium and California in 2004 demonstrated how dangerous not understanding what lies beneath our feet can be. The conference promises to engage with the latest industry developments and regulatory trends.

Organised by the Institution of Civil Engineers in conjunction with the National Underground Assets Group (NUAG) this conference is the follow up from the highly successful 2006 event when every aspect of understanding what and where things lie beneath our feet was covered. Three years later this conference will present the most up to date findings.
